Rax transformed JOUR468 at USC Annenberg into LGBTQ+ Reporting, a class exploring coverage of LGBTQ+ rights in the media, with the goal of improving the news industry through collective study. Students revisit the public reception of queer and trans history, propose best practices for future reporting, and workshop pitches and news writing. It will be offered next in Fall 2026 in collaboration with USC’s Gender Studies department.
